I have been creating art for many years, but due to family and career, had to submerge my desire to make art for several years.  Now I am retired, and want to get back into artistic life.

I have not attained a degree yet, but have take several years of art classes at college level, and eventually hope to finish my degree.

Painting is one medium that would be more productive, I believe, but I have not been able to decide which! So presently I do watercolor, oils, acrylics, pastels, pencil, charcoal, dyes, prints, and collage. I have painted on canvas, paper, board, rocks, furniture, gourds and cars. I have designed and built parade floats and designed and built store window displays. I also enjoy photography. Presently, I am concentrating on watercolor on paper.

Handspun Yarn - Natural Fiber Blends

My handspun yarns reflect my love for organic, natural fibers - Angora, Mohair, Alpaca and rare sheep wools- Cotswold, Gotland, Wensleydale. Some left in their natural state, others hand-dyed in earthy rich colors. All yarns are eco-friendly and naturally warm.

I strive to maintain the curly locks and texture of the fiber spun, this is reflected in my hand knit designs. Muted tones of the landscapes surrounding Julian serve as my color pallete. Angora rabbits have become an obsession and fellow spinners and weavers delight in their prime plucked wool. My enthusiasm for yarn began early, sitting on Grandma Kat's lap (fond memories) learning to crochet at the age of 8. She later taught me to sew at the age 10.

Thus began a life-long journey of fiber arts - doll making, knitting, quilting and finally spinning and dyeing. My delight has been in teaching my own grandchildren to knit and crochet. The circle of life goes on. In the past, I have spun at Renaissance Faires and Wine-Art Festivals in the San Bernardino mountains. My handspun yarns have taken 1st Place ribbons at the Monterey County Fair. Special Orders are always welcome!
